On 16-11, the Institute of Psychological Research, Training and Application (IPRTA) in collaboration with the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Public Relations of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. HCMC (HUTECH) organized the seminar “Ethics and new directions in research and application of psychology“. At the seminar, Prof. Minoru Karasawa — president of the Asian Association of Social Psychology (AASP) and professor in the Department of Cognitive Sciences and Psychology, Graduate School of Information Technology at Nagoya University in Japan — said ethics in psychology research is to protect people with psychological problems from unwanted situations. “To protect them, it must be through awareness and consensus on the goals, methods and ways of processing data,” Professor Minoru Karasawa stressed.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong – Vice Rector of HUTECH – said: “The cooperation will create an environment for students to experience, help them accumulate experience and knowledge with the hope of becoming professional psychologists. In every profession, professional ethics are important. The psychology profession is more specific because it will have access to the secret stories of customers, so it is important to adhere to ethical principles.”
