IMAGE OF THE CLASS “IDENTIFICATION AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS WITH CHILDREN WITH AUTISTIC SPECTRUM DISORDERS”
First day of class - March 31, 2024 - of the Institute of Psychological Research, Training and Applications (IPRTA) on "Identification and communication skills with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder".
The expert sharing knowledge for this course is Doctor Phan Thieu Xuan Giang (Children's Neuropsychiatry and Disability Specialist), who will help students who are owners of preschool systems, specialized systems, and teachers. preschool, special education teachers, parents and caregivers have knowledge of initial screening and assessment of a child at risk of developmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders.
After listening to the sharing of in-depth knowledge and clear scientific and medical evidence, the students were overwhelmed by the comments about children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in particular, and other developmental disorders. In general, there has been a lot of confusion for a long time.
Many parents did not accept that their child had autism, self-diagnosed, the diagnosis was not reputable, did not have the right expertise, and self-intervened. This has unintentionally delayed the golden period to support children's development at the right age, losing the opportunity to integrate into society.
After the course, students can distinguish between screening, initial assessment (parents, teachers, child care providers, psychologists, special education teachers) and diagnosis (Tam experts). psychologist, pediatric neurologist, medical tools and scales). Especially correctly understanding children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and early identification for early intervention before age 3 helps children progress.
Next, Master of Psychology Pham Thanh Tam - a practitioner of psychotherapy intervention for children with autism - shared his experience working with children with autism and guided the practice of skills (communication, interaction skills). eyes, body language, playing with children, managing emotions...). This is a great thing to help students reduce the pressure of taking care of special children, understanding and accompanying children in the process of growing up.
Through discussion, students shared their desire for IPRTA Institute to have more specialized courses to help students access many other developmental disorders in children, promptly supporting children to have a generation of healthy Vietnamese children. Future.
On the occasion of awareness day for children with autism on April 2, 2024, IPRTA Institute has organized courses for many students to raise awareness about children with autism, hoping that students do not need to change their children but instead understand them. , pay more attention, understand correctly, have many communication skills with children, and respect their differences.
The Institute of Psychological Research, Training and Applications (IPRTA) looks at the needs of students and the wishes of parents. Above all, the top goal of the IPRTA Institute is a generation of healthy Vietnamese children who will have talented, happy.
The Institute plans to cooperate with leading domestic and foreign reputable experts to open many quality courses from basic to advanced to help parents, teachers, and leaders in the early childhood education industry. SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY SEMINAR SERIES – “SCHOOL VIOLENCE”
School violence is a pressing and increasing topic in many schools across the country. With increasingly complex forms of expression from fighting with fists, rulers, sticks, chairs to violence on social media, there are many serious consequences from physical abuse, insulting honor and hurting the spirit of students.
The causes of school violence range from personal friction and egotistical attitudes to incitement and influence from peers. Lack of conflict resolution skills as well as deficiencies in home and school education also contribute to this situation.
IPRTA Institute has cooperated with many units such as Tuoi Tre Newspaper and Thu Duc City Women's Union to organize many school psychology sessions to educate life skills for students, as well as create a healthy and safe learning environment. IPRTA experts have conducted seminars on school violence in many schools, including:
Ba Dinh Secondary School (District 5),
Giong Ong To Secondary School (Thu Duc City),
Truong Thanh Secondary School (Thu Duc City),
and Truong Tho Secondary School (Thu Duc City).
IPRTA wishes to accompany and join hands to develop School Psychology with other schools in a series of programs to equip life skills and health care for primary, secondary and high school students for a healthy and developing young generation in Vietnam.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY SEMINAR SERIES – “LIFE GOAL SETTING SKILLS”
Once they have established their goals, students can avoid stress, anxiety or depression due to peer pressure or the pressure of not positioning themselves, more especially career choices after high school. In particular, we always uphold the capacity of self-awareness of each person in the development journey of society in general and each individual in particular.
Coming to the topic "Life goal setting skills" at Luong The Vinh High School, Master of Psychology Vo Minh Thanh, psychologist at IPRTA shared:
- Goals need to be short-term and long-term planning. Short-term planning helps students break their work into smaller steps, in order to build motivation and confidence in moving forward.
- The goal is to motivate students to constantly try, help students maintain a style of learning and personal development.
- Goal setting also requires flexibility and a willingness to change as needed. Students need to understand that career paths do not always have to be straight and smooth, but can have obstacles and challenges. They need to be willing to change and adapt to new situations to achieve their life goals.
Before practicing life goal setting, we guided students to identify their needs, abilities, and living conditions. It aims to support students who do not become "dream fish that they know how to climb trees". At that time, the goal is also a double-edged sword, if we determine the goal beyond the feasibility of the above 3 factors, it can leave material and mental losses, not to mention the amount of precious time that has passed wastefully.
